After nearly 30 years on the job, Redondo
Beach fire captain Matt Johnson says there has never
been a day that he has not looked forward to coming to work. The career in
public service has given him the opportunity to save people’s lives, their
belongings, and their homes. But in his other career as a musician, Johnson has
brought the house down many times.
The Long Beach native plays bass, electric guitar and sings with the
band johnsonmccue, comprised of Johnson, guitarist and songwriter David McCue,
